When we first arrived at Rusangu Secondary School, cameras in hand and hearts full of curiosity, we thought we were documenting a construction project. What we found instead was a movement — one built on faith, hope, and a deep sense of purpose.

For years, many of the girls at Rusangu have faced difficult living conditions. Overcrowded rooms, makeshift bedding, and long walks from unsafe areas were part of their daily reality. Yet, every girl we met carried an unwavering spirit — a determination to learn, to grow, and to become someone the world could depend on.

The Girls’ Hostel Development Project was born out of that spirit. It’s more than just walls and beds; it’s a symbol of dignity and opportunity. It represents a commitment to ensure that every girl has a safe, quiet space to rest, study, and dream freely.

Every brick laid is a step toward equality. Every donor, every supporter, every prayer is a part of a story that’s changing lives forever.

So when we say this is more than a building, we mean it. It’s the foundation for generations of young women who will go on to lead, teach, and serve — because someone believed they deserved the chance.
